Segunda Semana!!!!
E, aí Cachorros!!!! This is my second week in the a-home MTC, this is my first email while on my mission not much goes on while I'm at home in the MTC. It's been a lot of fun tho, I've been grinding Portuguese! Other than that it's been really low key.
On Wednesday I leave for brasil CTM in São Paulo, and I get to meet my district in person which is gonna be sick! My companion Elder Keeler is dope, all of our teachers call him elder killer because of their accent, which is pretty funny. And he plays water polo, which is sick!
I've been able to study my scriptures a ton the past few weeks and have gotten a ton deeper of understanding of what they talk about. One of the scriptures I've really liked especially because I'm learning Portuguese is Ether 12:27 which says “And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weaknesses. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble, and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I made weak things become strong unto them.” I've really taken that to heart the past two weeks with studying my Portuguese, I've always had a hard time learning other languages and I really believe that now all of the progress ive made to get to where I'm at now with Portuguese is because I turned to the Lord for help. Something my grandma told me a few days ago while I was trying to learn something, was if you're trying to do something for yourself it's going to be really hard, But if you try to do that for the lord then it will become so much easier. I know that's true, I'm not learning Portuguese for myself I'm learning it so that through me the lord can touch and teach his children in brazil in their native language.
Oh and also, last Friday me and my companion taught our first “investigator” who really is a teacher at the CTM. which is what I did for a while I was living in Provo so that was really weird being on the other side of that but it was also so fun because every time me and my companion would ask him anything we wouldn't understand what he was saying because we found out we were teaching him 10 minutes before we taught him so we just kinda laughed and says “Sim simmmm” and moved on pretending like we understood him.
Obrigado for reading! Hope everyone is doing well! Love you all!!
