Milagres

Olá, pessoal!! Como vocês estão? (Fun fact: in portugese they have a word for you guys, vocês is like saying yous!) 

This week was full of miricles! We were challenged by our mission president to invite 10 people to be baptized. At the beginning of the week thinking about 10 people was a lot, we didn't even have 10 people we were teaching. But, the Lord definitely is there to help when we do our part. I'll explain, we started the week out inviting everyone we were teaching to be baptized, which was 4 people. One already had a date for baptism so we didn't invite her, and then we weren't sure who else to invite. We thought maybe we would need to invite some people we meet in the street. But, then on Saturday, we went to work with a member here who is the age to be a missionary, we visited some less active people, and one brought us to her familiy who are not members. So when we were there we gave the lesson about the plan of salvation and invited all of them to be baptized, and a lot of them said yes! So now we're working to prepare 5 people to be baptized, and almost a entire family on the same day, which will be really special!!! 

This Sunday was supposed to be the baptism of Rosângela, but sadly she couldn't make it becuase she had a big test. But, we are still working with her, and she's loving everything! She's working on not drinking coffee, but she says its really hard becuase she drank coffee almost every day of her life! 

Now I want to share a scripture with you guys, one in english and the same one in português, it's Ether 12:4

4 Portanto, todos os que creem em Deus podem, com segurança, esperar por um mundo melhor, sim, até mesmo um lugar à mão direita de Deus, esperança essa que vem pela fé e é uma âncora para a alma dos homens, tornando-os seguros e constantes, sempre abundantes em boas obras, sendo levados a glorificar a Deus.

4 Wherefore, whoso believeth in God might with surety hope for a better world, yea, even a place at the right hand of God, which hope cometh of faith, maketh an anchor to the souls of men, which would make them sure and steadfast, always abounding in good works, being led to glorify God.

I know that most people reading this can't read the portugese part, but there's a part I really like that in English is a little bit different. The part I love is English  "with surety",  portugese uses a word that's pretty much the same thing butk, for me makes me think of it in a completely different way. They use "com segurança" which means with safety. Thinking about with safety it's a little bit different, when we have faith and belive with our whole heart that we can live with God again, that we can live with our families in happiness forever, that this plan that God gave us is true, we can have "saftey" in there being a better world after this one.
