Hot Christmas
Olá todos!!
Hey, it's been a little while since I've written an email updating you guys on what's going on down here in Brasil!
Recently it's been hot, really hot. And rainy, really rainy. But, it's been really, really good on the mission!
A few weeks ago we got to leave our mission and head out to the capital of the state here (Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais) to watch a devotional by Elder Soares where he was on a zoom call with my mission and the mission next to us! It was so cool, especially because he served his mission where I'm serving now, so he loved telling stories about his mission! Fun coincidence, a family Elder Soares was talking about is in our current ward and we do a lot with them. How cool to see the fruits of Elder Soares' efforts just a few years later! We could all tell he was being brought back to his mission!!
Here in our area we've been grinding a ton to try and find more people to help! We've had a ton of miracles happen.
A couple weeks ago we had a cool experience, we were sitting out front of a recent converts house waiting for her to get home, when a little kid that's like 4 years old came up to us. He was talking to us like any other regular adult would, so we started to talk to him about baptism and asked if he had already been baptized, he said he hadn't. Jokingly, we invited him to be baptized here in 4 years, he accepted!!! And then told us to follow him to go meet his family! We then talked to his mom (who's very pregnant) and 2 brothers who are all old enough to understand our message. We invited them all to be baptized on Sunday the 3rd of December, and thay all accepted!! So, on the Saturday before the 3rd, everything was perfect, and when we went to go pick them up from church at their house... the mom had to go to the hospital because she was giving birth. What horrible timing. But, we're going to help at least the kids be baptized this Sunday, and the mom as soon as she can!
Here in this area we like to hold family nights and this time we told everyone we were going to make cookies American! Everyone was super pumped, especially because I was talking up my cookies! Unfortunaetly I forgot to bring measuring cups to make the cookies and ended up eyeballing everything. YIKES! Let's just say that I do not have the cooking skills sufficient to eyeball anything.
